OFF: Okay, I'm going to do the best....I honestly don't remember all the specifics, but I'll do what I can. Let's go ahead and salvage what we can from this mission. I posted what I *thought* were the most recent things everyone's been doing in the Captain's Ready Room section...

ON:
<<Bridge, 1500, Day 2>>

Kersare: What's our status, Mr. Roran?

Roran: We're operating at around 81% currently.

Kersare: Not good enough, let's get that percentage up.

Hunt: Hunt to Kersare.

Kersare: *taps* Yes, what is it?

Hunt: To'Bar has beamed over. He wants to speak with you.

Kersare: Tell him I'll be addressing everyone at the meeting. It will start as soon as everyone's arrived.

Roran: Actually the others beamed in a few minutes ago, Captain.

Kersare: Mr. Hunt, please escort To'Bar to the conference room. I'll be there in a few minutes and we'll begin. Also, I want Jadan and T'serra there, contact them and let them know.

Hunt: Aye captain.

Kersare: Kersare out. *taps* Mr. Roran, you have the bridge.

Isabel entered the turbolift and headed to where the conference was being held. She was still rather worried about JJ's condition; the last she had checked he was still unconscious in sickbay. Knowing that Brad was a good doctor was a little comforting, but considering the severity of JJ's previous surgery, and the little recovery time he'd had, she was concerned.

Stepping out of the turbolift, Isabel took a left and headed for the conference room. She saw Cheetara talking with one of the young ensigns and approached them.

Kersare: How's security?

Thundera: Everything's under control. Just informing the ensign here that he needs to be in his assigned area.

Kersare: Everything's ready to begin?

Thundera: From what I can tell, yes.

Leaving Cheetara to the wayward ensign, Isabel hesitated before entering the conference room. She wasn't sure how this would go... Mark had sent the info he had found to herself and Mason earlier; hopefully Mason remembered to bring it. Isabel also strongly hoped that Mark held his views on the Marans in check while they were aboard; she really didn't need any more trouble. She had another thought and tapped her comm badge.

Kersare: *taps* Captain to Cadet Ragna.

Ragna: Yes Captain? Ragna here.

Kersare: Whenever you're finished up in the shuttlebay, go check on Marcus in the infirmary. I'll want to know how he's doing once I get out of this meeting.

Ragna: Aye sir.

As she turned to enter the room, Isabel saw Jadan and T'serra come around the corner, heading to the meeting. They paused before her, probably wondering why she wasn't inside.

Jadan: Not started yet, sir?

Kersare: No, I've not gone in. I was just about to, although I'm not sure if Mr. Hunt and To'Bar are here yet.

Jadan: Captain Dark is aboard; I believe he'd like to speak with you.

Kersare: Very well. Counselor, all ready?

Navdante: I believe so, that away mission was rather tiring though.

Kersare: Just do your best, let's head in.

OFF: Tag crew. Let's get to it and get this finished up! :)

== Main Sickbay ==
== 1515 Hours, Day 2 ==

Marcus didn't know where he was. The last thing he remembered was talking with Kersare about ... something ... onboard the Delta Flyer. He'd remembered having a bit of a headache for most of the day, but besides that, was at a loss for how he got to sickbay. His eyes opened and he looked around, half expecting to see Walker standing over him, but no, the EMH stood there. The hologram looked back at someone and walked away from the biobed. Jonathan turned his head to see Kersare standing by the main console in the center of sickbay with a PADD in her hand.

Kersare: Computer, deactivate EMH.

The hologrpahic doctor vanished into thin air. Marcus pushed himself onto his elbows and looked around, still confused as to what had happened. Isabel slowly sauntered toward him, her lips pursed together tightly. It was obvious she wasn't happy.

Marcus: How'd I get here, captain?

Her lips remained sealed, staring at the junior lieutenant, almost like she was looking for something. Part of the look seemed angry and the other part disappointed, but he couldn't tell which feeling was stronger.

Marcus: What's going on?

Kersare: Imagine my surprise when I was stopped from entering a meeting with members from the various races represented here to talk with Admiral Nehnyev. *pausing* I don't want to do this, but I have my orders. Lieutenant Junior Grade Jonathan James Marcus, effective immediately, you are relieved of your duties aboard this vessel.

Marcus: What?!

Kersare: *handing him the PADD* You've been ordered to report to Earth immediately to undergo an exhaustive investigation into your actions against the Maran government.

Marcus: *confused* Actions against the Maran government?

Kersare: You were caught spying on an ally, Lieutenant. Did you think that wouldn't go unnoticed?

Marcus: Permission to speak freely? *Kersare nodded* I was ordered by you to work with Lieutenant Grayson and he gave me instructions to hack into the Maran intelligence system, so why am I the one on trial here?

Kersare: Save it for the inquiry, Lieutenant.

Hunt: +tap+ Captain, everyone waiting for you.

Kersare: I'm on my way, Commander. +tap+

Marcus: *sighing* And then what?

Kersare: It's out of my hands. The Albion will rendezvous with us shortly and take you back to Earth.

Marcus: *sharply* Yes, ma'am.

Without another word, Isabel turned and left him alone.

<<USS Malinche>>
<<Shuttle bay, 1504, Day 2>>

Kersare: *taps* Captain to Cadet Ragna.

Ragna: Yes Captain? Ragna here.

Kersare: Whenever you're finished up in the shuttlebay, go check on Marcus in the infirmary. I'll want to know how he's doing once I get out of this meeting.

Ragna: Aye sir.

Ragna wasn't sure how long the memory core buffer would take to finish re-initializing so after another isolinear rod finished uploading data a few minutes later, he put in the next rod, and headed off towards sickbay.

<<Sickbay, 1519, Day 2>>

Ragna enters sickbay to see Marcus sitting on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands.

Ragna: You're already up again eh? Got a headache from when you hit the console?

Marcus: *slowly* I... I'm being sent to earth... for an official inquiry.

Ragna took a deep breath, as Marcus let out a sigh.

Ragna: I... You're kidding right? I'm already in trouble my first day. We're going to earth? I didn't know it was that *Marcus: Rag-* big a deal. I thought it was fine *Marcus: Rag-* as long as the Delta Flyer got back. I can't

Marcus *affirmatively* - Ragna!

Ragna shook his head coming back down to reality.

Ragna: Sorry, yes?

Marcus: I didn't say we, I said I. I am being investigated for spying on allies.

Ragna was taken aback and left speechless momentarily.

Marcus: So yeah, I was relieved of duty as I woke up, and am being sent back to Earth.

Ragna: I'm sorry sir, I didn't know.

Marcus: Yeah, well I'm hoping it will all clear up, but things look bleak. I think I'm going to need to go pack all my things for my trip. The Albion is already on the way to pick me up.

== Transporter Room 1 ==
== 1535 Hours, Day 2 ==

Marcus stood in front of the transporter pad with all his belongings in front of him. One good thing about not having enough time to unpack was that it was easy to pack up. He wasn't naive: the odds of him returning to the Malinche weren't good. If he had to guess, he wouldn't see active duty again, maybe even wouldn't be wearing this uniform again. There was no doubt that what he did would come with serious consequences; spying on an ally carried with it some of the most serious penalties.

There was no one here to see him off, it was just him and the enlisted officer behind the console. It had been a short stay on the ship, in fact, he hadn't even learned his way around yet, but there was no doubt he would miss the ship. It was, after all, a Strategic Operations dream come true. So much firepower, so many options, more than anything else, he would miss the thought of what he could have done with that. When he first arrived onboard, he'd been met by Kersare, ironically, she was one of the last people he'd see onboard. By now, she was deep into her meeting with the various races that were orbiting Maran. It was better this way.

Marcus pushed his bags onto the transporter pad and looked around for several moments before joining his belongings.

Matthews (NPC): Sir, the Albion is signalling they're prepared for transport.

Marcus straightened his uniform and pulled his shoulders back. Undoubtedly there would be a security team waiting to escort him to his quarters where he'd be under guard the entire way to Earth. There was even a possibility he'd be in the brig. He was an officer and he would accept this and any other punishment like an officer.

Marcus: Engergize.

<<USS Malinche>>
<Meeting Room, 1530, Day 2>

Jadan had been sitting down longer then he would like. There was alot of pomp and circumstance that seemed to go with this meet, much more then he cared for. Captain Dark got up, looking around at those gathered at the large conference table.

Dark: I can't think you all for your assistance, without it we certainly wouldn't have been able to fend off what was happening. Secondly, I come to you with a proposal...something that we thought may lead the way to better understanding between all our poeple.

Kersare: Exactly what did you have in mind Captain?

Dark: It's simple, the Maran government wants to create an expeditionary force that will head out to the area that the scout ship was first discovered in. The Federation has agreed to provide us with those coordinates, both the Klingons and the Cardassins are sending ships as well.

Jadan was not surprised, after all he knew exactly what Dark was going to say. He knew the Klingons would join...but the Cardassins leapign at the chance was something else entirely. He made a mental note to check on that after they left the meeting. Hopefully, most of the repairs would be complete by then.

<<Uss Malinche>>
<<Transporter room, 1535, day 1>>

Without JJ Marcus being aware, Mark observed his transport to the Albion. Grayson had no idea Marcus would be punished that way for invading the Maran security system.

If someone should pay for that specific sin, that person should be Mark. He knew that and was surprised to know that Marcus was getting all the heat.

Mark left the transporter room, walking slowly. The only reason for him had escaped any investigation was that someone had covered his track. Meaning, someone in Starfleet Intelligence didn't want Mark out of his job. And Mark knew who could have done that.

"Damn you, father! I never asked you for nothing", though Mark, angry.

He entered the turbolift and went to his quarters.

<<Grayson's quarters, 1545>>

Mark entered the room, his anger almost boiling. His father was now an Admiral. Not a captain, but an Admiral of the Starfleet's Medical Research Department. Mark Grayson I appeared to have some political abilites.

Marcus was the escape goat to Mark's actions. If Mark was still on Intel, he would stay quiet. But no more.

Grayson: Computer, connect me with Starfleet Medical Research Department. Admiral Mark Grayson.

Computer: Connecting. Call accepted. Stand By.

The screen blinked and the familian face of his father appeared. His hair was becoming gray and he looked healthy enough.

Grayson I: Son! What an unexpected surprise!

Grayson II: Cut the pleasantries, father. I know what you did and I won't have it.

Mark Grayson senior's face lost his happy expression. He became serious and just blinked.

Grayson I: What you did was an stupid thing, Markie. Some admirals wanted you head. I dodged that bullet for you.

Grayson II: First of all, don't call Markie. Second, If I needed you help, I would ask and... No, don't interrupt me father. AND, If I really wanted something for you, I would became a medic just like you wanted.

Grayson I: Now you're being insubornate, lieutenant.

Grayson II: Oh, really? Now, we're having an official conversation, admiral? Alright. Or you make Lt. Marcus accusations go away or I?ll personally go to Earth and confess my actions.

His father became distressed.

Grayson: I can't do anything now. It's all in motion now. I'm sorry, but your friend is going to burn and you'll have to live with it.

Grayson II: Well, father, I guess you'll have to survive my dismissal from Starfleet services, because I'm tired of your interference in my life. I hoped that being out here would make you think and considered why I keep taking the most dangerous or remote assigments.

Grayson I: Now you're being stupid. Think about you're saying, son.

Grayson II: It would appear that's all I have to say. Goodbye father.

Before Grayson senior could say anything more, the connection was cut. Mark knew Kersare was trying to negotiate some kind of alliance with the Maran.

He wrote a report, informing of his actions and what he was about to do. It would probably cost his career. But, that was better than someone else take the fall for him. He also requested a runabout. But, in his mind, the Captain only would see that too late, when he was already gone. He sent the message, packed his things and left.

Taking the runabout was not easy, but after some persuading talk he got one.

Ten minutes later he was bound to Earth. He looked at the Malinche one last time. He had enjoyed being there. But it was time to take responsability for his own actions. His friend Mike Derrin (NPC) would probably call him a nut, but, Mark felt he had to follow his conscience, for a change.

"Truth shall set you free. I guess I'll find out that soon enough".

OFF: Tag Marcus. hey did you actually think Grayson would let burn. He is a spy, but he has some conscience. I guess we will have some shoreleave, huh?

T'serra noticed herself deing distracted while she sat in the Meeting with the Marans something was troubling her something that was too distractive to her being of any help to Capt. Kersare. She tried to block it out of her mind but it kept coming back. Finally she was able to block it and started reading the surface thoughts of everyone in the room she could feel some tension and other things coming from everyone in the room. She waits till the meeting is finished and talks with Kersare for a bit.

T'serra: That seemed to go well. I don't really have anything to say more then that. Something was distracting me. Im not sure what it was though.

<<Brdige, 1550, Day 2>>

<insert>Kersare: Kersare out. *taps* Mr. Roran, you have the bridge.<insert>

"Aye, Captain," Nol left his station at Ops, and sat in the command chair. Flashes of the war went though his mind as he sat. He remembered the Bridge of the Prophet, fire blocking the viewscreen, the floor vibrating as a torpedo launched, slamming into a Cardassian cruiser, and tearing through it's outer hull.

No one had known they were a Bajoran vessel. Officially, they were listed as a Federation cruiser, but only Bajorans were on board. It had been a special request that nearly wasn't granted, but Nol and his commander had convinced Admiral Ross to allow them to join in the Federation's battle. In fact, it had been because of Ross that Nol had gotten his commission after the war.

Nol sighed and pulled himself back to the present. He looked down at the command display, and checked in to how the repairs were proceeding. Everything looked on track. another 9 hours or so, and they would be back in business. Clean up might take a little longer, but he was confident in another 24 hours the ship would be back in perfect condition.

Nol changed the disply so he could check sensor readings of Rass'nor's ship. The Cardassian was still close by, his shields down. One torpedo would finish him right here, but Nol didn't want it to be that way. He wanted that Cardassian dog to see Nol's face while he died. Nol had made a vow to the Prophets that he would. Nol wasn't the kind of man who broke promises.

Nol keyed off the display, and sat back. He said a silent prayer to the Prophets, asking that the Cardassian would come within his reach another time. Nol just hoped that, next time, he'd have a reason to kill him.

<<Bridge, 1535, day 2>>

Once the meeting was over, Mason took went to his seat. He thought everything went rather well sure it had its curves but what meeting didn't. The XO decided he would check in on Grayson since he wasn't heard from since both Captain and first officer saw him last. Leaving the bridge to Cheetara, Mason left the bridge while in the lift he just had the feeling that the motion sensors in the lift had been off slightly. He made a note to tell Jadan after the ship's major repairs were completed.

The left stopped of on deck ten just around the corner from Grayson's quarters. A few creman nodded as they walked by Hunt. There was something when he pressed the door chime, Mason just thought nothing more of it and pressed it again. By now there had been no response and Mason was becoming worried.

Hunt: "Grayson, its me Hunt are you there?"

Again no response came over the comm, so he stepped back.

Hunt: "Computer, override security seal on this door, authorization Hunt Beta one three."

The magentic locks released the door and whisked open, Hunt crept in peeking around both corners only to find no one was home. He searched about in every room to see if Grayson had been doing something and just not heard the chime. But he didn't the case Grayson had brought with him when he came aboard nor his personnel belongings.

=/\=Hunt to Cheetara=/\=

Cheetara: "Go ahead sir."

Hunt: "Can you locate Grayson for me, he is not in his quarters and the computer says he is not aboard."

Cheetara checked her sensors discovering the XO was right, there was no flight plan or departure scheduled for Grayson. When she finshed checking the ship, her security alarms went off.

Cheetara: "Sir, Shuttlebay one is missing a runabout."

Mason stormed out of Grayson's quarters *taps*

Hunt: "Cheetara, get some people down here to go over Grayson's quarters and check with the computer see if he made any log entries to explain this sudden departure. I will brief the Captain. Hunt out."

=/\=Hunt to Kersare=/\=

Kersare: "Go ahead, Mason."

OFF: Not to sound picky........but aren't we supposed to be in day 2? I'm seeing day 1 in a few of the posts.

ON:
<<USS Malinche>>
<On route to Bridge, 1545, Day 2>

{insert}
Hunt: "Cheetara, get some people down here to go over Grayson's quarters and check with the computer see if he made any log entries to explain this sudden departure. I will brief the Captain. Hunt out." {insert done}

"I'll get right on it, " Cheetara replied.

Cheetara couldn't imagine what Grayson could be doing. Why would he steal a runabout and run off somewhere. She wondered what he was up to, and what he was hiding.

+taps+ "Cheetara to Security team. Morris, Weaver, get to Grayson's quarters and look for anything you can to find out where he went. Loren, meet me in the main shuttlebay.I want to know how he got off this ship!"

<Shuttlebay 1, 1600, Day 2>

Cheetara and Loren began checking all the records for the missing runabout. No codes as to launch or authorization was coming up for acceptance. Cheetara was sure that Grayson probably used one of the old re-routing tricks to cover his tracks.

"Sir, I'm not getting any readings " Loren spoke up after doing a routine sensor check.

"You're not going to either. It's hidden. I want you to go back to Grayson's room with the others and see what you can find there. I'll work on finding the records."

Loren headed out the door as Cheetara went behind the main console. She began tapping buttons to try and uncover Grayson's tracks. Cheetara began baffled awhile because she couldn't figure out where they had gone. Finally, after about a dozen trys, she was finally about to uncover his tracks. Then, just as she found out the details about his departure in the runabout and how he got around all the security protocals, a messaged was sent.Cheetara stood there reading the incoming message. She couldn't believe what was happening. This letter fully described what had happened and why Grayson had left.

"He must be crazy" she said to herself out loud.

+taps+
"Cheetara to Hunt. I've found out what has happened with Grayson. I'm sending you and the Captain copies of it now."

"Good work, Lieutenant. Mason Out."

With that Cheetara began typing buttons on the console to send all the available data to both Hunt and Kersare. She then left the shuttlebay and headed her way back up to the bridge. She knew that it was time to make some adjustments on the security protocal, but it would have to wait for a few days while everything else was going on.

<Bridge, 1550, Day 2>

The information that Cheetara had found now worked its way onto the screen of the aft science station where Mason was to receive it. Most of it was in forms of paragraphs and fragmented sentences. Mason began to read what he saw shocked him. He never knew Grayson had a complexed background and history with his own father. He understood why he felt the need for secretecy but this was something he could have come to either Kersare or himself about.

Diagrams of the security overrides used in stealing the runabout were too detailed as if he was planning it for months, he even had a plan to use the transporter in case he couldn't bypass the security lock outs. Since it had only been a few mins Hunt thought perhaps it was not too late to track his course and see if the Malinche could catch up to him.

Hunt: "Ensign, run a long range sensor sweep to these coordinates (punching in buttons). Try and locate and warp signatures or energy traces."

The helm officer began his search, he ran the scan a few times then turning to Mason.

Ensign(NPC): "I am sorry sir, im not picking up a thing."

Hunt: "He must have masked his warp trail, all we know he is heading for earth. The runabout could be half way there by now."

Kersare was in her ready room, looking at the data sent to her, she nearly choked at by what she saw. *Taps*

Kersare: "Captain to XO, report to my ready room."

Hunt: "On my way."

The door chimed sounded, Kersare let him in and asked him to sit down. Never could she have ever believed that one of her own would throw his or her career away on a personnel matter such as this.

Kersare: "I trust you have read the data, tell me have you ever seen him do or say anything that would lead up to his recent behavior?"

Hunt leaned back to think, he rarely sat or spoke to him the times he had they were normal and straight conversations about work and current starfleet issues.

Hunt: "No, sir. Have you been able to get anything futher from the data?"

<<Outside sickbay, 1528, Day 2>>

Ragna wasn't sure where to go, but he knew he had at least another 40 minutes until the next isolinear rod was finished uploading into the Delta Flyer, so he had to figure out where to go in the meantime. Ragna walked down the corridor till he came to a computer panel.

Ragna: Computer, show me a layout of the ship. Display my current location, and the location of my quarters.

The panel lit up, showing a a 3-d image, and next to it cross sectional images of the USS Malinche, with a image of a Red Human figure near the sick bay, and a red flashing room a few decks over. Ragna headed over to his quarters to see if all his personal belonging, barring the bag still on the bridge, made it safely on the ship.

Ragna arrived at his room, and sorted through a few things, and eventually found a few PADD's and grabbed a particular one with a book he was reading on it, "Things you never knew a shuttle could do."

Ragna: Computer what is the time?

Computer: 1558

Ragna thought to himself that the isolinear rod was done, and he should get onto the next one. Ragna walked down to the shuttlebay with his PADD to work on the last two isolinear rods for the Delta Flyer, but when he got there, he noticed the Runabout, was missing. In a slight panic, Ragna checked the wall panel, and the isolinear rods were still missing, so he knew someone must have lest the shuttlebay in a hurry.

Ragna hoped they didn't need to go to far, since, while he had reinstalled the programming from the isolinear rods for Weaponry, Navigation, and Security Protocols, he hadn't yet uploaded the data for Sensors, or Communications.

=/\= Ragna to Hunt =/\=

Hunt: Hunt here, What is it cadet?

Ragna: Sir, I have information on a potentially dangerous situation. While Lt. Marcus and I were on the Delta Flyer before he collapsed, we erased the memory core buffer to be able to maintain more simaltaneous data links-

Hunt: Not to be rude, we can worry about the why later, what's the main danger?

Ragna: I was in the process of reloading all the protocols and programs, and wasn't finished. While Navigation, Weapons were installed, Security should have finished while I was away from the Delta flyer, but Communications and Sensors yet to have their protocols reuploaded and would have severely diminshed functionality, if any.

Hunt: That all the information you have Cadet?

Ragna: Yes sir.

Hunt: Report back to the helm on the bridge.

Ragna: Right away sir.

<<Ready Room, 1600, Day 2>>

Isabel listened as Mason finished his conversation with Ragna. She wasn't very fond of this situation as a whole. Having the situation on Maran resolved, and the meeting finished was obviously great news, but the most recent events were troubling to say the least.

It had pained her to relieve Jonathan of duty and send him to Earth for an inquiry. Granted, his actions couldn't go without some form of inquiry, but she knew he had been following orders. This latest news of Mark following Jonathan to Earth by taking the Delta Flyer was disturbing. In a way she was glad he was going to help Jonathan, but the way he did it left something to be desired.

Hunt: Captain?

Kersare: I'm sorry, my mind wandered. You were saying?

Hunt: I wanted to know what you'd like to do about the situation with Mr. Grayson.

Kersare: It seems there's little we can do now. We can't pick him up with our sensors and we can't communicate with him.

Hunt: *nodding* What shall we do now then?

Kersare: Well, since the danger here seems to have passed, I believe a shoreleave is in order. Everyone's been working very hard.

Hunt: Agreed. Some still have work ahead of them..

Kersare: Yes, Mr. Jadan and Mr. Roran will still be working at putting my ship back together I imagine.

Hunt: May I suggest shoreleave on Earth?

Kersare: I was just thinking the same thing. I'd like to attend Mr. Marcus' inquiry and catch up with Grayson anyway. You sent Mr. Ragna to the helm?

Hunt: Yes.

Kersare: Have him lay in a course for Earth, maximum warp....whatever that happens to be while the engineers are working. I'll join you on the bridge momentarily.

Hunt: Aye captain.

Isabel watched as Mason left her ready room. The mission had not been an easy one; in fact it had held many surprises that she hadn't guessed. The crew had worked hard and deserved a break. Hopefully their time on Earth would be relaxing. She sighed as she thought of Jonathan and Mark, and the mess they had gotten into. Isabel hoped everything worked out.

Getting up, she straightened her uniform and headed back on the bridge.

OFF: If you want to do any backposting, go ahead; I'll leave the mission open for a few days. I'll write up the first post for shoreleave tonight or tomorrow and you can begin posting there immediately. Great job everyone!

<<Bridge, 1600, Day 2>>

Mason saw Kersare coming out of her ready room looking a bit distressed sitting down in her chair, He left his walking up to Ragna.

Hunt: "Mr.Ragna, set course for earth maximum warp."

Ragna tapped a few buttons, then looking up at Hunt.

Ragna: "Helm, ready sir."

Hunt: "Engage!"

Like a bat out of hell the Malinche was now at warp, the crew was weary and wore down almost to a fault. The news of going home after so many months seemed to lighten their moods. Mason for one was looking forward to it, seeing the mild green grass that expanded from his childhood home out to endless trees and valleys of flowers. His mother didn't believe in living amongst all that technology, she preferred the simple life.

Even though the ship was going back to earth for shoreleave, in a small way Mason felt as if they were on a chase of sorts mainly because of Grayson's departure. Mason leaned over to kersare.

Hunt: "So any plans when we get home?"
