<Tactical Office, 1751, Day 20

T'serra entered the tactical office saying nothing at all showing the saddest look that she has ever shown on her face. She slumped down into a chair and stared at the floor for awhile till Cheetara spoke up.

Thundera: 'What's with all these borg references ' she thought for a minute and then snapped out of it. "What's wrong T'serra?" she said in her normal monotone calm voice.

T'serra: I found out that my uncle Sorvak on Vulcan whom I held in great respect died a few days ago. The message didn't say what he died from though.

T'serra turned inward trying to hold back tears which wanted to flow onto her face. It was hard but T'serra managed to keep from crying at least for awhile.

Thundera: "When did you find this out?", Cheetara asked after hearing the bad news about her Uncle.

T'serra: I found out an hour ago thats why I missed the staff meeting.

Thundera: "I don't know what to say. I've never really known my family. I'm sure it is a great loss for you. I wish that it didn't cause you so much grief."

T'serra finally couldn't keep the tears back and slowly they started to flow onto her face. Indeed what had happened did cause her grief just like the day she had found out about the borg attack on outpost 231 where her mother had been stationed.

Tundera: "Are you gonna ask for some time off or try to stick out the mission?" Cheetara asked knowing what the answer would most likely be with T'serra's dedication.

T'serra: I will stay with the mission seeing as I will be needed greatly and also seeing that the captain needs me but part of me wants time off, time to get over this if possible.

T'serra continued on about how she had grown to admire and respect her uncle and about other things that she felt the need to mention hoping all of this would set her mind at ease for awhile.

T'serra: The other reason I came her was to find out what had happened in the staff meeting, see if there was anything I needed to do.

T'serra had completely forgotten about the experiance that she got before she had left her quarters and she didn't realise that Cheetara thought that she had been at the meeting. Maybe she had and didn't remember it until she had that sudden insight? She didn't know.

Cheetara could tell that T'serra had been through alot. The fact that she didn't remember even being at the meeting showed that right away. Cheetara handed her a tissue to wipe away the tears.

"Here, use this", Cheetara said in somewhat of a compassionate tone. "Now listen carefully." she paused giving T'serra a moment to regain her composure. "You WERE physically at the meeting, but appearantly not mentally. I'm sure that's due to all the stress and emotion you just found out. I want you to know that I am here for you to help. As far as that meeting went", she paused again with a big sigh and a look of frustration crossed with anger, "it was a total mess. Abu and Mark were going at it, Petra needed some prozac, P'ayanna needs anger management counseling for trying to take off Petra's head with a padd, I got jumped on for trying to lighten up the mood with a little joke you seemed to chuckle at, and I thought the captain was gonna lose her mind from everything going on. The rescue party should be leaving in a shuttle......"

Cheetara stopped talking in mid sentence and looked at the time. It was almost 1800, and the away team was about to leave. She was supposed to be on the bridge before thier departure. She turned her attention back to T'serra.

"I think that you are supposed to accompany the captain for the meetings with the To'ma. They should be coming aboard soon. You're gonna have to talk to the captain about it. I need to get to the bridge immediately. Hopefully we can continue our conversation later."

Cheetara handed T'serra a padd with an inspirational message on it, hopefully to raise her spirits, so that she could go over the minutes from the meeting of what she had missed.

"I've got to do a site to site transport, I don't have time to wait." Cheetara told her as she began to tap a few buttons on her console. " Make sure you read that!"

Cheetara tapped the last button in the sequence to initiate the site to site transport to the bridge after her statement. Instant she dematerailized from her office and rematerailized on the bridge near her station.

<Bridge, 1756>

She had arrived in the nick of time . She heard Kai giving permission to launch just as she materialized.

"I'll take it from here, " Cheetara told the young ensign standing at the tactical console.

Cheetara monitored the constant scans, looking for any ship in the area that might pose a threat. She was looking for a good battle now that the ship was up and running again. The fact that Cheetara loved a battle is probably the only thing that Cheetara and P'ayanna had in common other than the fact of the department they were in. Cheetara looked up and saw the Captain just sitting in her chair appearantly thinking.

"So how long until that meeting with the To'ma Captain? I need to know so that I can have my security teams assigned and ready." Cheetara ask

On: Day 20. Surface/Shuttle. 1810.

Abubakar quickly shut off the engines as soon as the shuttle had landed so as not to create a massive energy signature that could be asily detected.

"Petra, begin scanning for Trelin. And try to confirm the exact internal layout of the complex. Then standby to transmit it to their trikes, Abubakar ordered Petra. Just trying to give her something to do that involved using her eyes and hands instead of her mouth.

He immediately got up, unclipped his hand phaser and walked to the port side door. Alll the others were at the aft ramp and scouting out for patrols, so Abubakar let the port door slide open, he knelt down in the doorway and held his phaser out. He gave a quick scan of the immediate area, and then satisfied there was no one around, he returned to the inside of the shuttle.

He walked to the aft section and caught a few looks, and comments. "Look, shuttle so big - leaves are clumped so close together. How the hell could I NOT make a hole?" he plonked down on one of the benches right by the ramp, "but then if we'd followed my plan in the first place, we'd be further away. Away from all the patrols...." he muttered. Looking disgustedly at Gray-life and Mangy-Pie-Dog.

He was almost certain that they wouldn't get any conclusive scans of the complex from here, they needed to use passive sensors so they weren't detected. And there just wasn't enough power to feed them into anything like a full sweep. He shook his head, "anything?" he called to the cockpit.

T'serra watched Lt. Tundera disappear to the bridge and then made her way out the door of the tactical office seeing no reason to stay there and she passed by Petty officer Brewer on her way to a turbolift. She could sense why he was apparently wandering about and she just smiled.

T'serra: If you are looking for Lt. Thundera she is on the bridge she just left her office via site to site transport.

T'serra continued walking still smiling though she wondered why after what she had gone though but she realised it was something Cheetara had left on the PADD for her. She could sense that Petty officer Brewer was even more confused now mostly because he was on a poverbial "goose chase" but also because he didn't expect for someone to all of a sudden walk by telling him where the person he was looking for is at now. T'serra wondered what he was going to do now that he knew where to go not knowing that he had actually left the bridge some few minutes ago.

[Day 20 : 1750 Hours]

Daniel was still having little luck. The room worthy of his expedition turned out to be sickbay, so with frustration continuing to grow, he set off in the other direction in the T Junction. Walking through more corridors of blue carpet and chrome, he came across another woman, but this time with a teal collar.

"If you are looking for Lt. Thundera she is on the bridge she just left her office via site to site transport." She told him, confusion spreading oe his face like ripples through water.

"Bloody HELL!" He said quite loudly, causing her to turn around. "Sorry ma'am. Tis just I've been looking for the Security office for the last half hour." He apologised, his 'Britishness' becoming more evident.

"Yes, well, she's on the bridge." The Ensign finished, walking away again.

"Ma'am?" Dan started, stepping forward to catch her attention. "I know this probably won't put me in good stead, but can you kinda show me the way to the turbolift? I've been here less then an hour, and I'm well and truley buggered when it comes to knowing my way around. Sorry, pardon the language ma'am.."

T'serra turned around when the Petty officer yelled in exasperation an simply smiled.

T'serra: Yes, well she's on the bridge.

T'serra was about to continue on her way to the turbolift that would take her closest to her quarters on deck 5 when the Petty officer spoke again.

Brewer: Ma'am?" Dan started, stepping forward to catch her attention. I know this probably won't put me in good stead, but can you kinda show me the way to the turbolift? T'serra looked at him for a few seconds and smiled again.

T'serra: I was just on my way past the nearest turbolift if you would like to follow me.
By the way I am T'serra Navdante the Chief Counselor.

T'serra continued walking for a few more minutes before she stopped infront of the turbolift.

T'serra: There you go Petty officer the turbolift to the bridge.

T'serra smiled again then headed off towards where she was going.

"I was just on my way past the nearest turbolift if you would like to follow me. By the way I am T'serra Navdante the

'Ack! I'm buggered! I've been here an hour, I've already had to ask one of the senior staff for help! Poo!' He thought to himself, his thoughts, however, being accompanied by a facial frown.

"There you go Petty officer, the turbolift to the bridge." The counselor stated after a few minutes walking, her hand guesturing to the door before him.

"Thank you ma'am. Bye." Brewer replied in thanks as he stepped into the turbolift.

Once more, the Petty Officer was on the bridge again. This time he actually managed to pick out which officer was the one he'd been seeking for the better part of the last hour. She was sitting at one of the consoles around the outer edge, with her blonde hair, just as it said in the file.

Daniel looked around the bridge and saw the Captain looking to inquire who ever it was who'd walked onto her bridge. Spotting Brewer, he smiled to her, but continued walking over to Lieutenant Thundera.

"Lieutenant? Sorry if I'm interupting, Petty Officer Second Class Daniel Brewer. I was supposed to reprt to Cadet P'ayanna, but she's kinda on an away mission. So I thought I'd try and find you, except I kinda got a bit lost... ma'am." The Weapons Specialist finished, hoping not to be too repremanded.

<T'serra's Quarters, 1810, Day 20>

In all it took her about ten minutes to arrive back at her quarters on deck 5 yet it seemed like more then that to T'serra maybe it was just the way she felt right now. She figured if anyone needed her they knew where to find her an she would just look for that box of belgian chocolates that she seemingly misplaced at the moment. If there was one thing that would help cheer her up that was that box of chocolates. T'serra looked around her quarters trying to find it. Finally after a few minutes of looking T'serra gave up having not found it and she just sat down on her sofa. As fate would have it T'serra noticed that things liked to hide right infront of you when you are trying to find them. That box she had been looking for was right infront of her sitting on a shelf. T'serra made a frown and went over to the shelf and picked up the box of chocolates and opened it looking over all the peices of chocolate trying to deside which one to eat first. After a minute of desiding which one to eat T'serra finally just took five peices out of the box and popped them into her mouth one at a time before closing the box and putting it back ont the shelf where she had got it. Other then having a love of chocolates T'serra also had a love for classical music.

T'serra: Computer music, The Requiem.

T'serra smiled as the music started to play and she sat back down on the sofa and closed her eyes listening to the music.

Cheetara sat there quietly watching what she considered a poor excuse for a human try to stand there and explain himself. She looked at him in a blank matter so not to give off any expression of her thoughts towards him.

"Well, let me say welcome aboard first. Now how could you have possibly gotten lost? Don't you know how to use a ship computer to find your way around?"

(tag)

"Well you obviously didn't do something right." Cheetara paused. "Now, I want you to go check all the phaser and torpedo banks manually to make sure everything is ok. Then come back to me when you have finished. And if you get lost, ask the computer to show you a DIRECT path to where I am at that time"

Cheetara turned away and went back to her duties making sure systems were still responding properly. She laugh a little on the inside thinking about how she just sent him to do everything manually that she had just done using the ship's computers. But she felt this would reprimand him enough for the stupidity that came over him, hoping that next time he would think a little more.

[Day 20 : 1805 Hours]

"Well, let me say welcome aboard first. Now how could you have possibly gotten lost? Don't you know how to use a ship computer to find your way around?" The Borg-ified woman asked him.

"I did, ma'am. The thing took me in circles. I wondered if there was a malfunction with the computer, but wasn't sure of what to do. But either way it sent me in circles." Dan answered, his gaze not flinching.

"Well you obviously didn't do something right. Now, I want you to go check all the phaser and torpedo banks to make sure everything is ok. Then come back to me when you have finished. And if you get lost, ask the computer to show you a DIRECT path to where I am at that time."

Brewer walked away slightly disgruntled, although, dispite his lack of sense of direction, he would be able to prove to Thundera that he wasn't some random pleb who didn't know a phaser from his finger. It was true that you could access all of those systems by computer, but what with his ability to know where he was going increasing, he thought it might be ok to venture, even with the amount of phaser banks they had.

[USS Malinche : Deck 9 : Brewer's Quarters]
[Day 20 : 1810 Hours]

Daniel walked in and picked up a PADD, suprised at how he managed to get to his quarters so quickly. He slumped back on a chair in the small, shared quarters and considered his next course of action.

'Hm.. Thundera said she wanted Phasers and Torpedoes checked. She didn't say manually though.. hehehe. I can go to the Weapons Locker and Armoury, check those phasers, and get the computer to upload the results of a basic diagnostic to the PADD!' He schemed, watching in his minds eye how the plan would unfold.

Unzipping his duty jacket, he stood and caused it to part, revealing the body of his department shirt and set off for his first port of call, the Armoury.

Cheetara watched as Brewer walked off the bridge and onto the turbolift. She thought about the assignment she had given him once again long and hard. She realized that he might just try to use the computer to run the system checks she requested, so she began tapping buttons and entering codes onto her console. By the time she was done, she had restricted Brewers access to almost nothing. She locked him out of assessing the computer core's essential systems totally, so that the only thing he would really be able to do is use the computer to find out where he was going and access the turbolifts. She knew that it was a rotten thing to do, but she wanted to make sure that he did the assignment manually as she had imposed and not directly said.

Afterwards she began going over the diagnostic scans she had done previously to make sure that everything was working accordingly. Then she walked over to the helm where Lieutenant JG Karsel`lyn Lylyl-Llytherraias was sitting.

"Welcome aboard Lieutenant Junior Grade", Cheetara greeted her. "I'm Lieutenant Cheetara Thundera, the chief tactical and security officer. I just wanted to have a quick discussion with you before things start getting hectic around here"

(tag Lylyl)

"I want you to make sure that you pay attention to your console. Should it happen that we go into battle, it is imperative because I will send maneuvering directions to you for various situations." Cheetara paused and pointed to a spot in the upper left corner of her console. "They will show up right there."

(tag Lylyl)

"Good. And make sure you are quick with your reflexes as they come in. We won't have time to play around. Especially with the events that are and will be going on right now."

(tagLlylyl)

Cheetara listened to her ramble about something with her flight history but didn't give what she was saying half a thought. The only thing Cheetara was worried about was making sure that she was going to be able to handle maneuver orders as they came to her.

<<Bridge, 1810, Day 20>>

As Isabel listened to Sharon telling about the away team, she realized she'd never gotten back to the So'Kra regarding their assistance, or the medical teams. So much had been going on and she'd been worried about the away team, and it had slilpped her mind.

Standing up, she walked over to the communications console. "Ensign Kai, continue monitering any communications from the away team. Ensign Tamlin (NPC), open a comm channel to the So'Kra."

He tapped at his console, "Channel open Captain."

"This is Captain Kersare of the USS Malinche - my apologies for not getting back to you sooner; I was making sure the away team got in alright."

A familiar voice answered, "Good evening Captain. Erontab Miltuk here."

Isabel had somewhat been hoping to speak with Tekel, but it seemed for now Erontab would be the one she was working with. "At this time, we'd like to ask you to have a small team ready to assist our away team if they're needed - we'll keep you informed. Also, the medical team you requested will be on their way shortly."

"Wonderful. I'll transmit the coordinates immediately," he responded.

Looking over at Ryan, Isabel waited for him to nod, "I have the coordinates," he confirmed.

"Mr. Miltuk, I'll be sending some medical officers, a counselor, and a few security officers down within the next fifteen minutes," she informed him.

"Thank you, we'll be waiting for them. Miltuk out."

"Mr. Tamlin, send those coordinates to the transporter room and also have them verify the coordinates before sending anyone," Isabel said as she moved over towards Cheetara.

"Aye."

"Lieutenant Thundera, I'm going to send two of your security officers down with the team, just to make sure everything's alright. Choose two of them and send them to Transporter room 1 immediately," Isabel said.

Cheetara nodded, "I'll contact them now."

"Thank you." Isabel tapped her comm badge, "Kersare to Navdante. I'm sending an away team to help the So'Kra. I'd like you to beam down with them, or at least send one of your counselors with the team. Make sure either you or the person you choose reports to transporter room 1 as soon as possible, and let me know who you're sending."

A few moments later, T'serra responded, "I'll let you know Captain. Navdante out."

And now for the medical officers. "Kersare to Sickbay."

"Yes Captain, go ahead," came Townsend's (NPC) voice.

"The medical team needs to report to transporter room 1 to beam down to the So'Kra to help with the injuries there. A few security officers and a counselor will be going with you. Take whoever you'd like, but be in the transporter room ready to go as quickly as possible. Additional supplies can be beamed down to you as you need it," Isabel said.

"I'll get them together, Captain. Townsend out."

Isabel turned back to Ryan, "I want you to let me know when they arrive on Celtron V. Let's keep our eyes and ears open - especially with that Bird of Prey nearby."

After seeing him nod, Isabel walked around the bridge, out of habit. It was too tense a situation for her to be able to simply sit in her chair and wait. Karsel'Lyn was at the helm, and seemed ready to go. Thus far Isabel had a good feeling about her. Jason hadn't yet returned to the bridge, although he should be there shortly - she'd ask him to run a few more scans and make sure no other surprises were waiting for them then, and make sure the Malinche's systems were ready to go. Cheetara had quickly sent the Petty Officer who'd appeared on the bridge to other duties, so she hadn't had the opportunity to meet him yet...

Her mind kept jumping from thought to thought, trying to bring some sense of order to the chaos running through her head. Hopefully her worries would be brought to rest soon.

(Damn You Lieutenant! I've Learnt From My Mistake Not To Post What I'm Going To Do BeforeHand Now!)

ON:

[USS Malinche : Deck 7 : Armoury]
[Day 20 : 1815 Hours]

Daniel was quite pleased with the way he could semi-find his way around the ship now. It'd only taken him 5 minutes to go up the 2 decks and into the armoury. He placed his PADD on top of the large console in the centre and walked over to the weapons rack.

"Computer, run a level 1 diagnostic on all ship phasers and upload the results to my PADD." He said absent-mindedly.

"Unable to comply, you do not have the necessary security clearance." It retorded back.

"What?! I'm a security officer! It's my bloody job to run diagnostics on phasers! Computer, run a level 1 diagnostic on all ship torpedo launchers." Brewer ordered, his attention returning to the situation.

"Unable to comply, you do not have the necessary security clearance." The computer replied again.

"DAMMIT! That cow, she must have restricted my access. Bloody hell, it's not even my fricking fault I was late. If that Cadet hadn't've gone off on a mission, I would'nt've got lost and I'd be fine!" He stormed as he slammed his fist on the console and slumped onto the chair.

'Ha! I may not be able to run diagnostics, but I know some people who can!' The Petty Officer thought with a smile, a metaphorical tricorder above his head coming to life in the same way metaphorical lightbulbs lit above those with ideas centuries ago.

[USS Malinche : Deck 5 : Main Engineering]
[Day 20 : 1821 Hours]

Brewer strolled into Engineering, his jacket still undone, smile on his face and PADD in his hand. His gaze was caught by the glow of the warp core, it's humming somehow, soothing. Struggling to break his eyes from the central power system for this section, he sought out a familiar face.

With many officers and enlistee's sat and stood at various consoles, it was quite difficult to spot who was who. Dan noticed one of them was the Chief Engineer, but he did not dare go up to a complete stranger and ask for a rule-breaking favour, especially one who was a member of the senior staff.

He looked around once more, but this time his eyes were successful. Walking up the Ensign, he coughed in the overt manner people do to attract attention. Watching the man smile, Dan started to speak.

"Ensign! Hello! I was wondering if I could ask a favour?" Brewer began with a smile, shaking Griggs's hand.

"Sure, what?" Andy replied with an enthusiastic grin, shaking his hand in return.

"I was wondering wether you could run a level 1 diagnostic on all the weapons systems? I'd do it, but something's gone wrong with my access. My department head should be fixing it some time soon, but in the mean time, I kinda really need this." The Weapons Specialst asked hopefully.

Ensign Griggs's smile slowly faded as he considered the request. There was something suspicious about this and he'd only just met the man. But then again, he seemed a decent guy, and the story he told was possible considering all the hassle that they'd gone through uploading the ship databse again.

"Sure. Do you, erm, want me to send you it or something?" The Engineer inquired, his grin restored.

"Yeah. If you could upload it to this PADD, you'd be a life saver sir." Brewer stated, breathing out a sigh of relief.

"OK, well, you can keep a hold of that, you should recieve the results in about.. say, 20 minutes? Sorry it couldn't be sooner, but we're talking about 18 phaser banks and 5 torpedo launchers, even if it is a Level 1 diagnostic."

'I know, and Thundera wanted me to inspect them all manually! That would've taken bloody hours..' Daniel though to himself.

"Nah, that's brilliant. Thanks sir!" Brewer beamed with a huge smile as he turned to walk out of the large room, on his way back to the Armoury.

<<Planet's Surface>>
<Sewer System, 1730, Day 20>

Amanda and the away team were making good time. Thus far they had managed to avoid detection, no small feat considering the last passive scan the shuttlecraft did indicated that there were at least three dozen Klingon's out there.

As much as Amanda may get irritated with thier Klingon cadet, she had to admit that with P'ayanna at the head of the colum they were making good time. Grayson travled behind the Klingon, then Weaver (NPC), Darkhelm and the rest of the away team.

"Remebering your old Marine days?" Mark tossed over his shoulder.

"Hardly," Amanda responded. "Last mission I was on we air dropped on a Dominion clonning facility....it was unpleasent to say the least."

"Must have been one hell of a battle," Hunt remarked.

Amanda shrugged. "Don't ask how many I killed, I didn't reall keep score...its not something that I always want to be reminded of."

"Your service record on the Hale indicated that you are no stranger to combat."

"Never said I was. I just don't like bragging about it...don't get me wrong, I'll lay down my life for my ship and crew. Perhaps we could cut the chit chat short," Amanda responded, looking at her wrist mounted tricorder. "We appear to have company 500 meters ahead."
