<<Ready Room, 0906, Day 1>>

Isabel sighed as she walked into her Ready Room. She really needed to find some way to relax; the tensions from the last mission were weighing on her. Unfortunately, the closest she'd come to relaxation would probably be the Holodeck for short periods of time in between duty shifts. The life of a starship captain.

Her eyes moved slowly around the room before resting on a picture of herself and her late husband, Derek. It'd been two years now since his death, but the pain could still cut through her like a knife. Closing her eyes for a moment, she waited for the feeling to pass. When Isabel opened her eyes, she smiled gently at the picture, "I'll be strong for you."

As she was about to stand up, the doorchime chirped. "Yes? Come in."

Ensign Tamlin (NPC) entered the ready room, PADD in hand. "Good morning Captain. This just came in."

Isabel took the PADD from his outstretched hand, "Thank you Ensign. Is there anything else?"

"No ma'am. If you'll excuse me, I'll head back to the bridge."

She nodded, "Dismissed."

Her eyes lingered for a few seconds, watching him go, then looked down at the PADD.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To: Captain Isabel Kersare
From: StarFleet Command
Subject: Mission

Captain Kersare,

We were pleased to hear that you and your crew were able to successfully negotiate between the two Celtronian factions. Currently we are gathering more intelligence for your next mission; we will brief you on it as soon as all information is in.

In the meantime, take your crew to Celtron V. Relax, but stay on alert - we have received some reports of possible trouble. Report any relevant findings immediately.

-Admiral Chilorn
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, it seemed they'd get a form of shoreleave... Isabel in truth wasn't overly surprised at the idea that some trouble would be brewing on Celtron V. Just because the To'Ma and So'Kra leaders reached an agreement didn't mean that everyone else liked it. Most likely there would be some attacks or some form of retribution.

Isabel tapped her comm badge, "Commander Hunt, report to my Ready Room please."

Eight minutes later, Mason was standing in front of her. "What can I do for you Captain?"

"It seems that we're getting shoreleave, to an extent. We'll be going down to Celtron V, but we're supposed to keep our eyes open for any sort of trouble as well. Would you please inform the crew that they can start beaming down at 1030 hours, and about keeping their eyes peeled?"

He smiled, "Of course. I think they could use the break, and so could you."

Isabel managed a weak grin, "Believe me, I know. I have some things to finish up here; I'll beam down to the planet later."

"So long as you go. I'll go ahead and tell the crew," Mason said. With a final nod and smile to Isabel, he turned and left.

Stars twinkled against the black background of space, and Celtron V loomed in front of the Malinche. Isabel's eyes moved slowly over the scene, "What awaits us this time?" Her voice trailed off as she turned back to her desk.

OFF: Okay everyone, you can go ahead and post getting ready and beaming down to Celtron V. PLEASE keep in mind the information I've already provided regarding the Celtronians - it's still in the Mission Discussion area of the forum, so refer to that if need be. Have fun, and let's see some posts, then the excitement shall really begin!

ON

Two sat in a room that was now empty except for her belongings. The other three had been sent to other ships. Two felt empty, like the quarters. Maybe she should see about getting either new roommates or smaller quarters. She would be able to reinstall her regenerative chambers no matter what.

How the four of them had managed to fit in together? They were as different as night, midmorning, high noon, and midafternoon, but they had managed to make it work. They had managed to keep from killing each other, but now, she was alone again.

She was feeling like she did when she first woke up free from the borg. SO empty. SO alone. She was not sure what to do next. At least with one of them around, they would remind her of something that she needed to do or somewhere she needed to go or they would ask her thoughts about something. Now, nothing. Complete silence. Even the silence of her own breathing.

She felt like she would go crazy if she were to continue to be alone. That is if she could go crazy. The silence was the thing that was the most overwhelming of everything. She was alone...again. She had sworn after she graduated that she would never be alone again (as in having someone around to just be around).

She went to the computer. "Operations, I would either like smaller quarters or three new roommates. I would honestly prefer to have roommates to living alone." She knew she would have to leave when this was sent. She could go to Engineering and the vibrations of the ship's engines would be better than the absolute silence that was in here. "Sign it and send it. Tell Ops that I can be found in Engineering."

She knew she would have to come back to "sleep". She could not sleep anywhere besides her chamber but if she was about to drop, as Kai had explained so patiently to her once, she would not hear the silence. Silence was not golden; it was annoying.

She left her quarters to just leave. Eventually, she would make it to Engineering, but since it was her offtime, she had nothing better to do. The lounge would be perfect to have the buzz of people around.

<T'serra's Quarters, 0906, Day 1>

T'serra hated to see people leave the Malinche, mostly because she got used their presence on the ship and with them gone there was a just a feeling of something missing. T'serra kinda thought of everyone as part of her family and she still does.

"Perhaps I just need a glass of hot chocolate and what better place then the lounge." T'serra thought to herself before heading out the door of her quarters.

A while later on her way to the lounge T'serra happened to bump into Harrison and quite literally too. *Bump*

T'serra: "Im Really sorry about that, I guess I should watch where I am going more carefully. Im T'serra Navdante Chief Counselor."

T'serra extended her hand and hoped that this chance meeting would work out better then it started off.

<<Bridge, 0910, Day 1>>

The previous mission did indeed take its unwavy toll on everyone, Hunt for one was exhausted but would not dare show it while on duty he was the XO and needed to show some stamina as it were. He sat down with a slight ache in his lower back before hitting the comm panel.

=/\=Attention to all hands, this is Commander Hunt. As of now shoreleave has been granted to all personnel. Department heads please submit R&R schedules to me within the next hour. Also one final thing enjoy yourselves that's an order. (he said smiling) Hunt out=/\=

Mason enjoyed many sports one of them being long meter runs. He used to compete alot in high school and in the academy. Although he could go the holodeck and run his favorite running program beta three one he hoped that the planet would have a real open course in which to run releasing all that over built tension and stress.

"Computer, call up planetary scans and display weather like conditions." asked Hunt manuvering to get comforable in his chair.

While looking at the scans, the image of Kersare's face haunted him he knew she got the orders from command about possible trouble on the surface and even in the sector. He felt horrible that she just couldn't break away and get a little time to rest without worrying about something running a mist.

=/\=Weather climate temperatures in the northern region now seventy three degress steady, water fronts nominal=/\=

That was good news for the XO, a chance to strech his legs and enjoy the real outdoors. Kersare soon left the ready room sitting beside her XO.

"Report!"

"I have made the annoucemnt of shoreleave to the crew, Captain. Department heads now submitting R&R requests. Are you alright (leaning into her) you seem a bit distracted." said Mason looking and being extremely worried about Kersare.

"I'm fine really (Looking about trying to shrug off the sadness she tried to hide) Mason thank you. You should get ready to beam down, I have you on the first list to beam down."

He handed her a padd with a title bodly written in red "Crew R&R group one.

Isabel tried as she might tried to pull rank on him but after a period of useless debate he spoke.

"Captain, go and have some fun. I can mind the store for a bit longer." said Mason.

On:

The runabout Confucius was making its way from Utopia Planitia, and the rather taciiturn Bajoran pilot looked at the long range sensors like it was the enemy. He had not been sociable with the Denobulan chief warrant officer and that disappointed Soren. He was a sociable soul. But he was on com with his second wife, Lania:

"...and don't get into more mischief that those humans can manage, Soren."

"Lania, I would never take advantage of a sexually immature species. You're marrying Elmek next week. You be sure to give him my best and tell him I'm delighted to have him as a husband in law."

"A what?"

"That's how the humans would see it. Remember, in Fellibia, do as the Fellibians do."

"Be well, my love."

"And you..."

Soren shut the com down. He had enjoyed a wonderful leave. He hibernated the requisite six days...setting him up for the year. He had also paid due attention to his wives, children, siblings and extended family. This was a serious matter; each Denobulan male had an average of three wives, each female two or three husbands, and a full clip of "yours, mine and ours" children.

With a good humored chuckle, Soren also reminded himself to get some gym time. Intimacy between Denobulans was...um... vigorous, and Lania had almost separated his shoulder! He had conquered in the end, but getting there was more work than it should have been. He would get into better shape if it killed him. Some rock climbing on the holodeck would be a must.

He was coming to the Malinche as Boatswain, that odd jack-of-all-trades position reporting to Operations. But half the work was engineering, between damage control duties and maintenance management. Fortunately Soren could work round the clock, now that he had his 6 days a year sleep.

But the LCARS had reported the ship on shore leave. Just fine, he could support the operations officers and give them a chance to go below. He's had his fun.

He pulled out his little Resikan flute, and played the pennywhistle-like instrument for fifteen or twenty minutes. The grumpy Bajoran seemed too happy to interrupt: "We are approaching the Malinche."

Soren smiled, very literally from ear to ear. "I'll call in, thank you."

Keying the com, he said: "Confucius to Malinche. Requesting permission to land for crew transfer."

A while later on her way to the lounge T'serra happened to bump into Harrison and quite literally too. *Bump*

T'serra: "Im Really sorry about that, I guess I should watch where I am going more carefully. Im T'serra Navdante Chief Counselor."

<new>

Two eyed the counselor but did not take the offered hand. As a matter of etiquette, she knew that she should, but the thought of taking someone else's hand was as foreign to her as everyone on this crew, including Chetarah.

"I do not shake hands," Two told Navdante. "I am not ignoring it."

Didn't counselors try to get into people's minds? Two wasn't sure if T'serra was Betazoid or not. Really and truthfully, Two's mind was as closed to the Betazoids as was the Ferengi. That was one thing that she could thank the Borg for.

"Well, tell the engineering department they can work on the transporter buffers after we put them through the diagnostic," Jason responded, handing the PADD back to Joey (NPC).

"For some reason I highly doubt that they would so much like that," Joey responded.

"Tough," Jason said, turning back around to the display. Zero (NPC) was sitting at the secondary operations station on the bridge, speeding through files at a rate that would have made Data blink.

"Commentary: I would have to agree with his assestment on this situation. You're engineering officer has not shown a great deal of tolerence for her plans being interupted."

"I don't care, we needed to do this ever since we got back from that last mission. It will only take a few hours."

"Your funeral."

The doors to the bridge opened admitting Adam (NPC).

"I thought we were supposed to be relaxing, this looks a lot like work to me."

"I just want to get this started, then I promise all the relaxing that you can handle, ok?"

Adam just smiled.

OFF: Don't forget to put time/day stamps on your posts, everyone. Format is <<location, time, day>>. As this is a new mission, we start over on Day 1. :)

ON:

<<Bridge, 0928, Day 1>>

Isabel looked over at Mason, frowning slightly. She appreciated how he looked out for her, but still. Then again, he'd just tell her it was his job to look out for her and she knew that no amount of arguing would get him to change his mind.

"Alright Commander, you've made your point, I'll go down with the first group at 1030 hours. However, you're to be with the next group, understood?"

Mason grinned, "Deal."

Isabel nodded, "I have a few thing to finish up bef-"

"Excuse me, Captain?" Ryan (NPC) looked up from the Comm station.

"What is it Ensign?"

He turned toward her, "The runabout Confucius has arrived with a new crewmember and they're requesting permission to land."

"New crewmember? Who is it?"

Ryan relayed the question, then addressed Isabel, "He says he's Chief Warrant Officer Second Class Soren, Boatswain, ma'am."

Isabel looked over at Mason, "Don't you love how StarFleet keeps us informed?"

"Definitely Captain," Mason grinned.

"Alright Ensign Tamlin, give them permission to land. Ask Mr. Soren to report directly to Operations once he's settled into his quarters, then alert Lieutenant Barrett of his new Boatswain and ask him to brief Mr. Soren on what's been happening and what we're doing now," Isabel informed the Communications officer.

"Aye."

"Also ask Mr. Soren to find myself or Commander Hunt at his convenience; I do like to know my crew," Isabel added.

"Of course ma'am." Ryan turned back to his station to relay the messages.

"Mr. Hunt, see if you can't scrounge up some form of a report from each department before they leave for Celtron V. I'm going to go visit with Lieutenant Thundera and brief her on the possible trouble on the planet," Isabel started heading for the turbolift as she saw Mason nod.

Although going down to Celtron V was supposed to be more of a relaxing time used to get to know the Celtronians, Isabel had a feeling there was more to it. The Admiralty had more or less said as much in their communication to her. What she didn't understand was if there was trouble on the planet, why wouldn't someone have informed them of it? Perhaps it hadn't begun just yet, or perhaps it was simply rumors.... In less than hour, she'd probably know more.

<<Security headquarters, 0939>>

Isabel walked in slowly, looking around. Several security officers were scurrying about, getting equipment in order. She noticed Mr. Brewer and nodded to him. "Have you seen Lieutenant Thundera?"

"I believe she's in her office, Captain," he replied with a smile, checklist in hand.

"Going over the inventory?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Keep up the good work, " Isabel smiled.

Walking over to Cheetara's office, Isabel paused as she saw the Security Chief leaving. "Good morning, Lieutenant."

OFF: Tag Thundera, Brewer, crew
I know this is a little slow right now guys, but it'll pick up once we get to the planet, I promise. Let's get posting and keep things moving so we can get there. :)

T'serra simply smiled slightly and drew back her hand. "Well this should be interesting" T'serra thought to herself. If there was one time she wished that she could sense something from Two or any of the other Ex-Borg crewmembers other then Cheetara, it was right now. Still it didn't take much to realise where Two was heading seeing that it was the same place T'serra herself was heading.

T'serra: If my guess is right I belive your heading towards the lounge. Would you mind my joining you?

T'serra hoped that Two wouldn't mind and seeing that the lounge isn't really a place to go if you want to be alone T'serra figured that They might be able to talk about things.

<Sickbay, 1000, Day 1>

Amanda took one look at the massive amount of PADDs that had some how managed to materialze on her desk over the past few days. She knew that Captain Kersare would want her to take some time off but she had way to much work to complete.

Thier last mission left her feeling some what bitter. It seemed like that was all that she and the Federation ran into these days; more death and destruction. She thought she was finished with that life when she left the Marines...apparently she was wrong.

She took a sip of the coffee, wincing as she realized that it had gone cold awhile ago. Taking the cup and placing it back in the replicator she got herself a new one and then dove back into the ever mounting stack of reports.

Jason knew that he promised Adam (NPC) that he would leave after they got things under way but he was soon informed that he had a new member of the operations department coming aboard. Adam had taken the news well, giving Jason a quick kiss before disappearing off the bridge. A few minutes later the doors opened, admitting Soren.

"Welcome aboard," Jason said, extending his hand.

The Debnobulin shook Jason's hand. "Happy to be aboard."

"I'd like you to meet Lt. Joey Summers, Joey this is Soren or new Boatswain."

"Pleased to meet you."

"May I ask what you are doing?" Soren asked, looking at the display.

Jason nodded toward the displays. "We picked up some minor damage due to high density EM pulses with our battle with the Klingons, looks like it fragmented part of our computer core....nothing major but enough to slow down the computting time some. We're looking at the transporter systems now."

Soren nodded.

"At any rate, I recieved the files from your last posting. For the time being I'd like you to look over the damage reports from our last battle...I'd be open to any suggestions. Oh, and I think that Captain Kersare wanted to see you at your convience."

Mason grabbed a padd and walked over to the turbolift turning towards Barrett and saying hi to a crewman accompaning him.

"Lieutenant, I'll be in engineering and going about the ship gathering reports for the Captain you have the bridge."

<Tag Barrett>

The lift doors closed coming to life rushing off to first the crewman's destination. The young woman stood so straight and forward that Hunt thought he almost heard a ligament being torn. He couldn't stand it anyone so he broke the ice by standing to the side of her.

"Hello crewman..."

"Crewman Bartel sir, and hello" she said turning to him then facing back to the lift doors.

He was astonished how quick the ice was before formed and broken for a slient instance and then reformed so quickly so he thought to try again.

"So you are in engineering I see that's where I'm headed. What your speciality?" he asked smiling seeing the semi break in her face as she was about to release the stone cold face.

"Warp field and subspace geometry sir. There is something about warp fields that intrigue me (laughing about it) even though I never could understand why."

The two chatted for nearly ten minutes as the lift came to her stop. As he got, she smirked without Hunt seeing her then veered in his direction.

"Sir, some of the engineering staff are getting together later in ten-forward before landing parties gein to beam down would you care to join us?"

The XO was indeed stunned by the offer and it felt a weight was lifted off of his shoulder. He always had trouble socializing amongst the crew this was a good opportunity to break that long time barrior.

"Sure why not." he said watching her smile and walk down the coorridor.

Hunt was bit curious to see the engine room because of all the new enhancements being installed not to mention the new warp core. The lift stopped letting him off into the cooridor. It was picked with activity groups of crewmen with padd's and engineering equipment fixing and pasting neural gel packs and computer terminals lining the corridors.

Finally he made it into the main engineering room which was no better than the outside, most moved aside when the saw Hunt trying to get threw. He saw one of the chief engineering staff members and pulled him aside.

"Kinda crazy isn't where is Chief Harrison?" he asked as the young officer moved him into the Chief office.

"I will page her sir, please wait here." he said.

<Sickbay, 1020, Day 1>

Karsel`lyn strode in quietly, looking around the silent, and otherwise empty, sickbay. The light was on in the Chief Medical Officer's office, and the petite green-skinned pilot strode over, looking replesplendant in her blue Starfighter Pilot's uniform, which clashed with her green skin far less than the bright red of the Command Uniform she'd worn prior had.

Peeking in the open door, she watched the attractive Amanda Darkhelm work through padd's. Probably reports on crew injuries, reports on supplies, reports on subordinate's performance, and so on.

Karsel`lyn felt bad for the woman, especially since, out of anyone aboard, the Chief Medical Officer and/or the Commanding Officer were under the most stress, and needed shore leave more than anyone else aboard.

She cleared her throat, "Doctor? Can I have a moment?"

Without waiting for a response, she strode in and stopped before the Doctor's desk. Her almondine brown eyes gazed over Darkhelm's pale skin, red hair, and stopped at her breathetaking blue eyes. She felt her hormones race a moment, before shoving the feeling down.

"I'm sorry to disturb you, ma'am, but since my pheremones can't be repressed, they often tend to bother me, and I've been having this really nasty headache for a few hours. I was wondering if there was anything you could do about it?" Karsel`lyn smiled at the gorgeous doctor, "And are you planning on going on leave? I've got my own runabout aboard, and I'd be more than happy to give you a lift planetside. Maybe camp out with me, and possibly some others, if we can scare some other folks up?"

The petite Orion-Japanese girl gave Darkhelm a sultry, inviting smile, hoping to persuade the good doctor to join her on-planet for some Rest and Relaxation.

Cheetara had just finished some going over some of the incoming reports. She decided that it was time for her to take some time to go do one of her usual workout programs. As she came out of the office she heard the Captain's voice.

"Good morning Lieutenant", Kesara said.

"Hello Captain. Is there something I can help you with?"

Cheetara listened as the Captain told her about the new member arriving.

"I see." Cheetara responded. "Well I'll go meet this new member right now and meet you on the bridge."

Cheetara turned and walked away heading for the main shuttlebay. Cheetara arrived just in time. She entered just as he was exiting the ship.

"I take it that you are Chief Warrant Officer Second Class Soren, the new Boatswin onboard", Cheetara said announcing herself. "I am Lieutenant Cheetara Thundera, the Chief Tactical/Security Officer onboard this ship."

Cheetara listened to his introduction and then cut him off.

"Well as long as you follow the rules, there won't be any problems. Now if you'll come with me, the Captain and First Officer would like to meet you." Cheetara said as she turned around and began walking back to the shuttlebay entrance.

She stopped and waiting for him to catch up to her after saying bye to the pilot that was with him. Cheetara sometime despised they was Starfleet would just sent new members without any notice. She knew it wasn't his fault, but it aggrevated her.

<Bridge, 1000>

Cheetara and Soren walked onto the bridge.

"Captain, this is Chief Warrant Officer Second Class Soren" Cheetara announced as they walked around to face the Captain and First Officer.

Soren nodded to his new chief.

"Yes, sir. I'll head to the bridge right away." The CWO gave one of those exceptionally wide Denobulan smiles and made for the turbolift. In the lift, Soren looked at the PADD. Plenty to keep him busy. Some of this was trivial, but others could grow into grief.

The door to the turbolift opened and a Science ensign almost careened into the chief. Almost unconsciously, Soren's face blew up like a blowfish to four times it's size. The ensign was startled and took a step back.

"Excuse me, sir. You startled me." Chief Soren's face returned to normal. "Sorry, sir, it's a Denobulan defense mechanism."

He made his way past to the captain's ready room and touched the annunciator plate.

Isabel looked up from a PADD as she heard her doorchime, "Enter."

Looking up she saw a man in a yellow uniform walk into her Ready Room; he had skeletal ridges around his face and forehead which indicated to her that he was a Denobulan. Personally, she'd never met one; first time for everything. "Good morning, I assume you would be Chief Warrant Officer Second Class Soren, my new Boatswain?"

Soren smiled and nodded. "Guilty as specified, Captain. I was advised to make my way here on the double. Far be it from me to neglect an order."

"My apologies Mr. Soren, but I've not had a chance to review your file; StarFleet seems to enjoy sending me crewmembers without telling me in advance," Isabel smiled apologetically, "Where were you last stationed?"

"Utopia Planitia, ma'am. I was the Gamma shift dock administrator, involved with repair and refit. I guess the dock officers were just as happy to give the job to someone who only slept six days a year. I have advanced engineering training, and know my way around what used to be called paperwork."

He continued: "But never fear, captain. I have boatswain's experience as well. I can handle any technical bridge station and make myself generally useful in maintenance as well as more catastrophic damage control."

She looked at the PADD in his hand, "I take it you've already seen Lieutenant Barrett. He's a good officer. Has he told you anything about our last mission, or what our current assignment is?"

He shook his head in a slow, dignified manner.

"No, ma'am, not yet. He was dealing with a critical computer core problem when I arrived, and he clearly knows his priorities. He ordered me to make an assessment for repair and develop recommendations, ma'am."

Isabel nodded, "A good idea. Here's the brief run down, Mr. Soren. Our last mission involved two factions of the Celtronians, the To'Ma and the So'Kra. Near their planet, Celtron V, is a wormhole. The So'Kra didn't want it to be used, but the To'Ma did; the two were ready to fight to resolve the issue. After numerous onboard difficulties on our way here, we arrived to find that a member of the High Council, Garshon Trelin had been kidnapped by the To'Ma and some rogue Klingons. We rescued him and continued with negotiations; currently the wormhole is open for limited use."

She paused for a moment to allow the information to sink in, then continued, "We are now on a form of shoreleave, although there have been reports of trouble on the planet. We'll be investigating the situation when we beam down."

Soren nodded thougthfully. "Sounds like you had it rough, ma'am. Hmm. Captain, you can use me day or night to take a shift for any technical or operations officer that you need to send below. I am just off of homeworld leave and have had my hibernation for the year."

The CWO reflected that most of the damage here might be based on Klingon disruptor and torp damage. In the back of his mind, he was beginning to evolve a repair plan from SIF on into the ship.

"I'm sure you'd like to get settled in, so please go ahead and do so if you have no other questions. I'm glad to have you aboard," Isabel smiled, extending her hand.

Chief Soren took the captain's hand in a businesslike clasp. "Thank you, Captain, I'm happy to be here. Your Security Chief is a little fey, but nothing I can't manage. Good luck on your investigation, and please call me at need."
