Raven walked through the corridors of the ship, strangely self-conscious of her new position as Chief of the Boat. Though she knew that there was no way anyone could visually tell she had been promoted, the young woman still felt as if everyone was staring at her. Firmly she shoved the paranoia aside and entered Main Engineering, suddenly realizing she hadn't put on her uniform since leaving the Shuttle Bay. Looking down at her t-shirt, Foster suddenly understood why people were staring. Emblazoned on the front were the words 'I do all my own stunts'. She paused, wondering if she should go get a duty jacket at least before seeing the Chief Engineer, and then thought better of it. She was a mechanic, not a fashion model.

The 6 foot 7 inch Chief stopped at Peter's office door and pressed the chime.

"Come in," Peters called. He had his feet up on the desk while typing up a status report on the PADD in his hand. He finished the sentence he was working on as the door hissed open, then looked up. And up. And up. An Amazon wearing a T-shirt filled the doorway to his office. As striking as the woman's somewhat ruffled appearance was, Peters found his attention drawn to the saying on the T-shirt.

He assumed, based on the height, that this was the Shuttle Maintenance Chief, and, consequently, also the Chief of the Boat. The rumpled appearance only reinforced that perception. "You find a lot of need to do stunts in the shuttlebay, Chief?"

Raven had a habit of which she was well known. She would look someone over in an instant and decide if she could get along with them. The young woman raised an eyebrow and decided that Peters was someone she could get along with. "I do whatever it takes to get the job done," Foster said with a sideways smile. She extended a hand. "CPO Raven Foster. Thought I'd drop by and introduce myself. I like to get to know my Chief Engineer."

Peters swung his legs off the desk and to the floor, then grasped the extended hand. "Nice to meet you, Miss Foster. I trust you've been taking good care of the shuttles, then,. stunts or no?"

The Chief held up a hand. "Please call me Raven. As for the shuttles, aside from a little difficulty with Travers in Ship's Stores, the girls are getting the TLC they need. We just fitted Penelope's new sensor palette yesterday, and I figure Norma Jean should be ready for her refit in a week." She eyed the Chief Engineer. "I actually wanted to talk to you about the refit. I may need to 'borrow' some of your staff so we can get it done while we're still docked."

Peters raised an eyebrow at the names, but decided not to ask. "I think that could be worked out," he said. "I do have half of the graveyard shift sitting on their thumbs with monitoring duty. I could spare most of them and give you a few people from the other two shifts for a couple of days."

Raven nodded and tapped a few commands into her own PADD. "That would be more than enough to get the refit done before we launch." She looked at him with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Are they housebroken?"

"Mostly," Peters replied with a grin. He was sure the night crew wouldn't find it funny... well, a couple of them would... but he found it funny nonetheless. "You might want to keep a roll of newspaper handy, just in case, though."

Chuckling, Foster decided that this would be the beginning of an excellent working relationship. She stood, eying the Chief as she did so. "I'll keep it in mind. In the meantime, if I can be of any help, as Shuttle Mechanic or CoB, let me know," she said with a smile.

"Will do," Peters replied. He stood as well, feeling a bit small in comparison to Foster. "And if you need any assistance or unusual supplies, be sure and let me know."
