OFF: Time & Day reset...

ON:
<<Bridge, 0904, Day 1>>

Isabel walked onto the bridge from her ready room, having finished her report about their last mission on Celtron V. It had taken a little longer than usual, but she'd wanted to be especially thorough.

Other than the scheduled repairs of the Malinche while docked at Starbase 10, StarFleet had also said there would be some crew changes. Isabel wasn't very surprised about this...crew changes, especially among lower ranks, tended to happen frequently on her ship. She'd accepted that, and was just curious as to who she'd be losing and who she'd be gaining.

She hadn't had the chance to talk with much of the Senior Staff after Amanda and Jason told them about Jason's symbiote, but she was rather curious as to their reaction. It concerned her to an extent, but as long as it didn't negatively affect him and he was able to perform his duties, she could live with it.

Looking around the bridge, she noticed the crew looking a little weary. This shoreleave would come none too soon. She headed over to Melanie (NPC), who was currently piloting the ship. "Report."

"We're arriving at the Starbase now, ma'am," she replied.

Isabel nodded, taking her seat, "Miss Holtman(NPC), open a channel to Starbase 10."

"This is Starbase 10 Docking Control, go ahead."

"Good morning Docking Control, this is Captain Kersare of the USS Malinche, requesting docking clearance," Isabel said.

A man replied, "Acknowledged. Clearance granted, transmitting docking coordinates now. Repairs will begin once you're docked."

"Thank you Control, Kersare out," she stated. "Ms. Doram, half-impulse power to the indicated coordinates, if you would."

"Aye aye Captain," Melanie replied, tapping at her control console.

The Malinche glided into the docking area, slipping past the huge doors and manuevering to the indicated coordinates. Several other ships were also docked. Some had much more extensive damage than Isabel thought the Malinche had, and a few looked new - ready to head out on their first mission.

Caitlyn turned to face Isabel, "Ma'am, Docking Control reports that docking clamps have been engaged and we're free to disembark upon your orders."

Isabel nodded, then tapped her comm badge, "Kersare to crew. Everyone is dismissed to shoreleave aboard Starbase 10 until notified by myself or Commander Hunt, except for Senior Staff who need to remain aboard to finish their reports, then will be dismissed. Get some relaxation in and we'll see you soon. Kersare out."

She turned to Mason and Brice, "Mr. Thomas, would you please go and speak with the Department Heads to see how things went during the mission and how their non-commissioned staff is doing? And Mr. Hunt, if you could please retrieve the Department reports, then release the Department Heads for shoreleave, it would be greatly appreciated. In fact, you're welcome to help each other if you'd like."

"Of course Captain," Mason smiled. "Aren't you going on shoreleave too?"

She returned the smile, "I will be, just need to get a few things finished up first." They nodded and headed for the turbolift as Isabel moved towards her ready room. It'd been a stressful mission, but now they'd get some much needed rest.

OFF: Alright everyone, go ahead and start posting! :)

<<Bridge ? Sickbay, 0910, Day a>>

It was the start of a new day, Mason like Thomas received his orders and left the bridge. His neck was feeling a bit tense all though he did sleep soundly threw the night. Then it occurred to that he was meaning to change his bed and pillow to something more adjusted to sleeping habits.

The repairs to the Malinche were already underway and his first stop was sickbay, he hadn?t seen Darkhelm for his checkup since beaming up. Mason always dreaded medical check ups even with today?s new and improved technology. However he had every confidence in her abilities as CMO.

Just about every deck was much like the one Hunt was left off on very busy full of activity. People leaving with suitcases and others with medical cases going in and out of docking ports with their children and families. It was a pleasant sight to see and hear the sounds of laughter aboard the Malinche.

Passing threw two additional corridors, Hunt finally made it into sickbay. The entire room was packed with new medical personal trying to get their assignments and new orders from the CMO.

There was a huddle around the CMO station where Mason could only assume Darkhelm was at the center of the mob. He thought he would lend her a hand by tapping on a glass container.

?Attention on deck.? Said Mason with his stern look.

Everyone saw the XO and stood at attention, some still having the desire to eagerly break the standing to orders just to get their orders.

?I?m sure we can act a little bit better than this, please form a single line and the CMO?s nurses will help.? Said Mason smiling ever so politely.

With the noise and crowds more organized and toned down, Mason was able to move around to Darkhelm.

?I take it this is the morning rush?? he tried to break the ice with a joke.

<<USS Malinche>>
<Barrett's Quarters, 0900, Day 1>

Jason lay awake in bed, looking at the ceiling. Next to him, Adam (NPC) rolled over, nearly slapping him in the face with his hand. Adam opened his eyes.

"Good morning," Adam said.

"Morning to you too," Jason responded, managing a smile. Truth be told he felt a little weird...he was supposed to be dead. He was dead...well he was supposed to have been dead.

"Are you just going to mope around here all day long?" Adam asked, sitting up and looking at Jason.

"Maybe," Jason shrugged. "Besides I thought you were going to force me to go see the counselor."

"Jace," Adam sighed, brushing a stray strand of hair off his forhead. "You were dead. You know, not among the living for almost an hour and then you just came back withouth any help from us."

"I know," Jason sighed, swinging his legs over the bed. "Believe me Adam I am well aware of what happened."

"Then why aren't you talking about it?"

"Exactly what do you want me to say about it?" Jason asked, turning to face Adam. "Because honestly, I don't think that its something that I really want to talk about right now."

"Alright," Adam said, defeated. "I guess I should go get dressed. Amanda is going to have a slew of people in her sickbay today getting check ups."

"And I have to talk to Cheif Thomas about my NCO's...among other things."

Adam leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "See you at lunch then?"

"Sure."

<<Turbolift, 0905, Day 1>>

Shandris(pronounced Sha-n-drees) sighed mentally. Here she was, a new assignment. Again. She'd been kicked all over the fleet, promoted, demoted, promoted again, and demoted yet again. Seemed that whoever was calling the shots liked to toy with her.

Now she was being assigned to the USS Malinche, one of the brand new Prometheus class starships. She'd only seen one once, at the Utopia Planitia shipyards, right after she'd graduated the Academy. Her Advanced Tactical and Security training classmates and her had taken over the Fleetyard for two weeks, sent through an odd, yet rigorous, exercise. Recover the massive fleetyards from the 'terrorists', who'd 'taken over' the facility. Now, she was serving on one. She didn't know if this was good luck, or if whoever chose to toy with her, and her career, was just playing with her again.

Well, there wasn't much the petite little Sidhe could do about it. Except continue to do her job as well as possible. She had a Department Head and Commanding Officer to impress, and she intended to do just that.

The Commanding Officer.... not much was available for Shandris to see in her file. Starfleet was protective of her Commanding Officers, and not just anyone could flip through their personnel files. But the Chief of Security was an entirely different matter. Ex-Borg, it was said that she was an unemotional, dispassionate officer. It would likely be very difficult to impress her.

Finally, the lift stopped and she stepped onto the Bridge.

<<Bridge, 0908, Day 1>>
Shandris stepped aside as a Commander, 'probably the XO,' she thought, stepped onto the turbolift she'd just vacated. She caught a glimpse of a woman, four gold pips, heading towards the Captain's Office, or Ready Room, as some Commanding Officer's called it.

"Captain!" Shandris called after her, and rushed over to the woman's side, stiffening to attention, "Captain, Lieutenant Junior Grade Shandris reporting as ordered. I'm sorry, ma'am, but I was unable to locate Lieutenant Thundera, so I came up here to report in."

<Sickbay, 0910, Day 1>

Amanda had to smile at Mason. Despite his best attempts he didnt' seem to be able to pull off the casual easy going officer type as well as some others. At least he was working on it though, that would make things a lot easier around the Malinche.

"Good morning Commander Hunt, and no actually its not the morning rush....well I suppose it is in a manner of speaking."

"Oh really?"

"We've all just been discussing the biological, theological, and idealological implications of Barrett sharing space with an organism."

"Aren't you supposed to be passing out assignments?" Mason asked.

Amanda laughed light heartidly. "No offense sir but some how I have managed to maintain all my staff and their only assignment for the time being is to have some fun. But enough of that, why are you here?"

"Check up as ordered."

"Well, well, a commanding officer that actually listens to the doctor, this may be on for the record books. Right this way."

Mason took a seat on a biobed as Amanda grabbed a tricorder and began to scan through him. After the scan was complete she took some blood samples and placed them in the scanning station, waiting for the computer to analyze them.

"I'm sure you're in just fine health Commander, after all we never did find anything on Celtron that was dangerous to us...well ntot in a medical way."

Mason nodded.

The computer beeped and Amanda went over to it, looking at the various results.

"As I was saying, you're in perfectly fine health," Amanda smiled. "Now shoo get out my sickbay and make room for the sick people."

<Engineering, 0945, Day 1>

Brice found himself in engineering, looking over the latest reports. With Harrison gone, that left engineering slightly under staffed until they could find a suitable replacement. He took another look at the latest status reports only to find that the repair teams were actually head of schedule. Kersare should be happy about that. Then again that was partly thanks to Jason and the efforts his operations department was making.

He set down the report and looked at the department head meetings that he was scheduled to have today. Command would be first on his list, followed by Medical, Operations, Security/Tactical, Flight Control, and finally Consuelor. He just hoped that he could get this done and then go on some much needed shoreleave.

Turning command over to one of the engineers, Brice exited engineering and headed toward Mason's office.

A few minutes later he arrived. Pressing the door chime, Brice stepped in as Mason spoke.

"Good morning sir, just doing the status reports...anything interesting from command?"

OFF: Hi,If anyone needs help wih an idea or has questions on where to go within the shoreleave please contact me at anytime. My contact info is listed in the Exec office. Let's have some fun im game for JP's perhaps we can even plan a party to relax a bit.

<<USS Malinche>>
<<Deck Five, 0945, Day 1>>

Heading back to office Mason was sadden by Harrison?s leaving the ship. He shared the same feelings as Kersare did about her being the best and finest chief engineer the Malinche ever had.

Mason couldn?t visit the life sciences labs because most of them had been sealed off for critical research and could not be disturbed. So he tapped his padd noting he tried to get their reports and moved back to his office.

The second he arrived the computer quickly displayed his messages from earth as he went over to the replicator and ordered himself a cup of ginger tea with lemon. It was one of his many favorites. Hunt felt the morning was going rather slowly for some reason perhaps it was just his lack of sleep that was the factor.

A piece of icoberry tort appeared after his tea the aroma took his breath away so much that Mason started to eat it before getting to his desk. Just as he sat down the door chime sounded. At first he didn?t recognize who it was until he spoke and the doors had opened.

It was Brice Thomas, Hunt had remembered seeing his name on the list of who to see that very day. He quickly put down his tea extending his hand to the Chief of the boat.

>>"Good morning sir, just doing the status reports...anything interesting from command?"<<

?Nothing really just the run of the mill bridge operations reviews and seeing to the requests from command. They want a complete review of our entire manifest and departments and we just sent those reviews last month it seems they just love reading dry reports. What can I do for you Chief?? asked Mason.

<Tag Thomas>

?Tell me about it, she was a great officer and engineer this ship has indeed suffered a great loss not by death I mean she was a valued member of the team. How are things on the home front in engineering??

<Tag Thomas>

Hunt sat there listening to the Chief, he could tell that he was a good person and well focused into his work.

?Chief I wonder if you wouldn?t mind helping me with a few things. I do need reports from ops and intell would you mind getting them from those departments heads??

<Tag Thomas>

?Keep me informed my general report is due in two hours. Thank you for coming to see me Chief I just hope that soon I can repay your visit in kind.?

<Tag Thomas>

Mason watched as Thomas left, the computer had already gathered the reports from a third of the senior staff except for tac/sec. He had just about had his fill of tea so he got up and headed for the tac/sec office.

It was just a few decks down from where he was so he decided to work in a little exercise by taking the Jefferies tubes to get there. The trip did take longer than expected but he did make it without sweating threw his uniform. Two crewman heard something move the hatch to the tube and veered in closer.

The XO has kicked it out shocking the crewman against a terminal interface. Being somewhat embarrassed he sealed it back up and spoke.

?I am sorry, please carry on.? Said Mason walking down the corridor.

The corridor seemed empty for the time of day, with many people going to and from he would have expected it to be much like sickbay and the docking rings. Hunt walked up the corridor to find the office doors were already open but no sound was coming from within the room.

Not taking any chances he crept along side the wall all the way up to the office he ducked around the corner to find Thundera not there. Thundera and her assistant strolled around the corner quietly without Mason hearing them.

<Tag Thundera>

Mason was yet embarrassed once more even with some blushing on his cheeks. He stepped aside allowing the two ladies into the office.

?I um (Trying to push his being embarrassment aside) came down here to check in and to see if you had completed your reports.? Said Mason wanting to sit down.

<Tag Thundera>

?Command has asked with the war over if we would volunteer in training a group of cadets from the academy. They believe they could benefit from the additional field training from an experienced officer.?

<Tag Thundera>

?Here are the names of the cadets also the guidelines of the training. The person to contact is Lieutenant Monal(NPC). He will need an answer within the hour. I know its last minute but we are the only ship docked here until next week and the ships that are due to arrive are federation medical transports.?

<Tag Thundera>

?Great, thank you I will stop by later on for the latest security protocols for the weapons and tricorders locker.? Said Mason leaving.

It just seemed the list was growing longer by the minute, the next on his list to see Navdante. This time as he headed down the corridor he smirked and thought to himself that he would take the life this time.

That same kink in his neck began to bother him once more, he still couldn?t figure out how he got it. Pushing the discomfort aside he tried to rotate his neck left and right hoping the pain would go away.

He finally made it to her office, he pressed on the door chime waiting for to let him in.

<Tag Navdante>

?Hello Counselor, just dropping by to for your report and to catch up on things. How are you??

<Tag Navdante>

?I see, say I was wondering command is asking us to provide field training for some cadets and if Thundera accepts would you mind being there to work with her on the mind sets of each one. No doubt command will want to see how well each is handling the training.? He asked.

<Tag Navdante>

?Thank you, now I have to go and see Soren have a great day Counselor.?

<Tag Navdante>

Walking about the ship was a pleasure for the XO, he did like to exercise quite a bit but he hardly had the free time. He tapped his padd asking the computer where he could find Soren.

The map showed him on deck ten working with some technicians on a nearby interface that had been shut down for maintenance. So he directed the lift to take him there. Soon after he had arrived, Soren was by himself reaching out to his kit without looking hoping to find a coil spanner.

?Looking for this?? Mason asked.

<Tag Soren>

?I was stopping by to see how you were and ask that since engineering is short handed would you mind after your finished here of course to give them a hand?? he asked.

?Tell me about it, she was a great officer and engineer this ship has indeed suffered a great loss not by death I mean she was a valued member of the team. How are things on the home front in engineering??

"More or less intact," Brice shrugged. "With the help of operations were actually ahead of schedule on most of repairs. The station is getting us new parts for the sensors that were damaged when we had our rough ride."

Hunt sat there listening to the Chief, he could tell that he was a good person and well focused into his work.

With that said, Brice headed out of his office and made his way toward sickbay to speak with Darkhelm. He had no doubt she had her hands full explaining Barrett's recovery death...something that Brice himself still didn't understand. Then agian, it wasn't his job to understand...that was what Darkhelm was for.

<Sickbay, 1015, Day 1>

Amanda stared blankly at the display screen, looking over the sensor data from when Jason was brought back to life. The symbiote was the key to the whole thing, although Amanda had yet to fully explain how it managed to reverse death.

Then again, she may never manage to explain how it happened....no matter how badly Starfleet wanted an answer. But as far as she could tell, Barrett was alive and in perfectly good health. Wonders would never cease when he as around apparently.

With shoreleave on them now, it gave Amanda more then enough time to look at teh various data and try and see if she could come up with some sort of solution. Later, she had convinced Joey (NPC) to take a look at the data with her; he has a background in operations and could explain some of the finer details of quantom mechanics that she wasn't completely aware of.

The doors to sickbay opened, admitting Brice.

"Good morning Chief, what can I do for you?"

"Actually, it's more like what I can do for you."

Brice noticed the abundant amount of PADDs that appeared to be scattered around her desk. Apparently, she didn't seem to be having that much luck explaining the wonderous recovery of thier Lt. Barrett.

"Trying to find a needle in a haystack?"

"Something like that...personally, I would just call the thing a miracle and then move on. Too bad Starflee doesn't see it that way. But what brings you down here?"

"Gathering department reports for Commander Hunt...and seeing if you need anything."

"A brain that understands all this non-medical stuff," Amanda smiled.

"I got pretty good grades in the sciences, maybe I could help you take a look at it."

"Sure, I'm meeting with Joey (NPC) later in astrometerics to take a look at it, say around 1330, you're welcome to join us if you like."

"Sure...."

"Oh, and you were probably looking for this," Amanda said, grabbing a PADD and handing it to Brice.

"You sure you don't need anything?" Brice asked.

<Security Office Deck 7, 0800, Day 1>

Cheetara had just arrived in her security office to start out the day. She knew that there would be alot of reports that would need to be done. Escpecially since Harrison was now gone. Cheetara starting thinking about last night when she had gone down to Engineering to say goodbye to her. It was kind of strange. It was almost as if Harrison was starting to get emotions. In their talks, Cheetara volunteered to help out around engineering when she could until a replacement came. So that way Harrison wouldn't worry about anything going wrong. So before going to bed, she set up a repair and maintenence schedule as Harrison departed.

Cheetara was startled out of her thoughts when a message come through to her desk announcing a new Assistant Chief Tactical/Security Officer that would be arriving around 0900. So as quickly as she could, she began writing her reports to make sure that they were able to be turned in by 1000. At 0910, Cheetara had finished her reports and went to see if she could find the new arrival hovering about. Eventually around 0950 they ran into each other and after a quick hello began to go back to Cheetara's Office. On the way back to the office Cheetara heard some commotion and then they ran into Mason. Whom Cheetara was sure had caused it by scaring some young officers as he came out from a jeffries tube during one of his almost routine morning exercises

"Good morning Commander. Scaring the young cadets as usual?" Cheetara said in a joking tone(for her).

Mason was yet embarrassed once more even with some blushing on his cheeks. He stepped aside allowing the two ladies into the office.

?I um (Trying to push his being embarrassment aside) came down here to check in and to see if you had completed your reports.? Said Mason wanting to sit down.

Cheetara handed him the padd that was in her hand. "Of course I have. There is more to this report as usual though. In addition to my reports, I did the rest of the report that Harrison has composited before she left."

?Command has asked with the war over if we would volunteer in training a group of cadets from the academy. They believe they could benefit from the additional field training from an experienced officer.?

"Interesting", Cheetara said flatly as she turned to Shandris. "It looks like you won't have much time to get settled in, and I won't be getting much time to myself"

?Here are the names of the cadets also the guidelines of the training. The person to contact is Lieutenant Monal(NPC). He will need an answer within the hour. I know its last minute but we are the only ship docked here until next week and the ships that are due to arrive are federation medical transports.?

Cheetara looked over some of the guidelines she was just received and thought for a minute before answering Mason. "I guess so", she said in an unhappy monotone voice."I'll contact him after we get into the officer and I get her acquainted with how I run things around here. But he'll have to get rid of some of these ridiculous guidelines. How does he expect me to train with all of them?"

?Great, thank you I will stop by later on for the latest security protocols for the weapons and tricorders locker.? Said Mason leaving.

Cheetara turned to Shandris. "Right through here", Cheetara said pointing to door on the opposite side of the corridor.

Cheetara walked in behind her and then sat at her desk.

"Welcome aboard", Cheetara said flatly. "I wasn't able to really look up your background, so why don't we start with you telling me a little about yourself?"

OFF: Tag Shandris

Main Engineering
Day 1, 1030 hours

The whoosh of the turbolift doors sounded as they opened to admit Chief Soren to engineering. You wouldn't have known that it was a body without a head due to the regretted departure of CEO Harrison. But Soren, engineer as well as operations type, had promise that he would bear a hand.

He called to a crewman. "Elkhart (NPC), what is the status down here?"

The crewman answered: "Looks to be pretty smooth, Chief. CEO and the TAC/SEC chief put their heads together on a maintenance and repair schedule. It's a handful, though." He handed the Chief a PADD.

Soren looked carefully at the list. He nodded in silent agreement. "At the end of this cycle, you will have a new engineering bay here. How is the recalibration of intermix going?"

Elkhart responded: "Another guy's got that, Chief, but I haven't heard him squawk."

The CWO nodded. "Well, it's easier when we're in spacedock. Let's move up the inspection of the bio-neural gelpacks on the main computer to Gamma shift tonight. Bio-neural elements can catch human virus infections, you know. It might be necessary to have Medical inoculate them. We'll let the spacedock handle the exterior structural repairs. But tell the team working propulsion and SIF that I'd like to surprise the Captain with a moments-notice departure status. I'll arrange with operations to allocate power to SIF re-balancing."

"Ok, Chief, you got it."

"Thanks, crewman. I'll cover incoming comms; head back to your station after you pass my messages."

"On it, Chief."

That's what Soren liked to hear.

<Sickbay, 1015, Day 1>

Amanda had to smile at Brice's enthusaism. She liked the new officer; though she would have liked to have had Walker back onboard. At least he might be able to provide some sort of answer to what was going on with Barrett.

"Not at the moment, I'm going to see what my inquries to both the Marans and the Klingons have managed to turn up so far."

"Sounds like you have your hands full," Brice responded.

"Oh you have no idea, then again this is the way I tend to like my days...makes it a lot easier to sleep at night."

"I bet, I'll see you later then."

Amanda nodded and watched as Brice left. Adam (NPC) her head nurse, came in moments before with his own PADD in hand.

"Inventory is completed...looks like we have everything that we could possibly need."

"Good...so how are things with you and Barrett?"

"You mean ever since he came back to life from the dead?"

"Yeah."

Adam sighed. "I wish I could tell you, but he doesn't really like to talk about it. For now, I'm going to press him on the issue."

<<USS Malinche>>
<Deck 8, 1045, Day 1>

Jason, Joey (NPC), and Zero (NPC) where working on the new EPS relay that they had installed on deck 8. So far things were running smoothly, although Jason was sure that wasn't going to be the case for long. Things had a way of popping up when you least expected them; at least they did on the Malinche.

He tried his best not to think about the fact that he had technically died. Adam (NPC) mentioned the issue more then once, but Jason did his best to ignore it. It wasn't that he didn't trust Adam it was just that he didn't even know how to explain it yet.

"Comment: If you do not pay attention you may inadvertly cause your heart to stop again."

Jason looked down to see that he was dangerously close to zapping himslef with few hundere joules of eneryg.

"A simple watch what you are doing would have sufficed," Jason responded, looking annoyingly at the driod.

Zero merely cocked his head.

Jason muttered a Klingon curse to himself and reached for another tool just as Brice came around the corner.

OFF: Tag Brice!
