Prologue

Arcturus was a small insignificant ball of Ice orbiting an small insignificant star near what was once the Klingon neutral zone.

The base itself was just as insignificant, “The Scott Polar Research Institute” was placed there to run test on the planets unique attributes as well as acting as a place where technology could be cold weather tested.

At least that’s what the brochure said...

The purpose of the outpost was nothing like what the official Federation reports read, it was in fact one of the most closely guarded secrets in Starfleet.

The “Tempus Fugit” project was a time travel experiment being carried out by a small highly covert section of Starfleet Intelligence with a view to sending operatives back to past events and altering them for the security of the Federation where needed. If knowledge of what was being done was ever leaked out then it would lead to a diplomatic nightmare and possibly war.

And that’s what was about happen, a scientist working out of the outpost had grown disenfranchised and had hinted to one of the other scientists that they thought it was right that everyone knew what they were doing there, that the project was too dangerous to continue and that the only way to get it shut down was to destroy the secrecy surrounding it.

This was something the section couldn’t allow to happen, the decision was made to put an end to the project and to the team on the base, to prevent to what could be a political disaster for the Federation as well as potentially expose the sections role in what was going on.

The USS Indiscernible under Commander Foster was dispatched to put an end to the Tempus Fugit project and silence the scientist, they were to tie up the loose ends and make sure Doctor Jack Hawkins never talked...
