Isabel sighed as she walked into her Ready Room. She really needed to find some way to relax; the tensions from the last mission were weighing on her. Unfortunately, the closest she'd come to relaxation would probably be the Holodeck for short periods of time in between duty shifts. The life of a starship captain.
Her eyes moved slowly around the room before resting on a picture of herself and her late husband, Derek. It'd been two years now since his death, but the pain could still cut through her like a knife. Closing her eyes for a moment, she waited for the feeling to pass. When Isabel opened her eyes, she smiled gently at the picture, "I'll be strong for you."
As she was about to stand up, the doorchime chirped. "Yes? Come in."
Ensign Tamlin (NPC) entered the ready room, PADD in hand. "Good morning Captain. This just came in."
Isabel took the PADD from his outstretched hand, "Thank you Ensign. Is there anything else?"
"No ma'am. If you'll excuse me, I'll head back to the bridge."
She nodded, "Dismissed."
Her eyes lingered for a few seconds, watching him go, then looked down at the PADD.

From: StarFleet Command
Subject: Mission
Captain Kersare,
We were pleased to hear that you and your crew were able to successfully negotiate between the two Celtronian factions. Currently we are gathering more intelligence for your next mission; we will brief you on it as soon as all information is in.
In the meantime, take your crew to Celtron V. Relax, but stay on alert - we have received some reports of possible trouble. Report any relevant findings immediately.
-Admiral Chilorn

Well, it seemed they'd get a form of shoreleave... Isabel in truth wasn't overly surprised at the idea that some trouble would be brewing on Celtron V. Just because the To'Ma and So'Kra leaders reached an agreement didn't mean that everyone else liked it. Most likely there would be some attacks or some form of retribution.
Isabel tapped her comm badge, "Commander Hunt, report to my Ready Room please."
Eight minutes later, Mason was standing in front of her. "What can I do for you Captain?"
"It seems that we're getting shoreleave, to an extent. We'll be going down to Celtron V, but we're supposed to keep our eyes open for any sort of trouble as well. Would you please inform the crew that they can start beaming down at 1030 hours, and about keeping their eyes peeled?"
He smiled, "Of course. I think they could use the break, and so could you."
Isabel managed a weak grin, "Believe me, I know. I have some things to finish up here; I'll beam down to the planet later."
"So long as you go. I'll go ahead and tell the crew," Mason said. With a final nod and smile to Isabel, he turned and left.
Stars twinkled against the black background of space, and Celtron V loomed in front of the Malinche. Isabel's eyes moved slowly over the scene, "What awaits us this time?" Her voice trailed off as she turned back to her desk.
OFF: Okay everyone, you can go ahead and post getting ready and beaming down to Celtron V. PLEASE keep in mind the information I've already provided regarding the Celtronians - it's still in the Mission Discussion area of the forum, so refer to that if need be. Have fun, and let's see some posts, then the excitement shall really begin!
